  • Increasing the value of your home

  • Providing a low maintenance option when compared to a lawn

Decking Applications

So where can you install decking? Well, practically anywhere including:

  • Barbecue or entertainment area
  • Garden
  • Patio
  • Pool
  • Pergola
  • Veranda
  • Balcony
  • Over parking areas

Decking Materials

There are a number of different types of decking materials available today, some which are;

  • Timber
  • Aluminium
  • Compressed Sheeting
  • Tiles

Timber Decking

Timber decking allows you to add the natural warmth and character of timber to your home. We recommend hardwood timbers for their durability, especially considering that they may be continually exposed to the elements. Choose from a variety of local and exotic hardwoods, all of which have a unique colour range, texture and character.

While there are cost advantages to nailing down timber decking, we prefer to use screws as they provide a much more secure and long lasting finish.

Aluminium Decking

Is your property bushfire prone but you want a timber deck?  Why not consider timber look aluminium decking?

This style of deck has many advantages for any situation;

  • Won’t warp, crack, twist, splinter, swell or rot
  • Low maintenance – just needs the occasional clean with soap and water
  • Is slip resistant
  • Rapidly dissipates heats

Sub-floors

The subfloor is the structural framework required to support flooring or decking.  The material which forms the framework can be manufactured from timber or metal.  We prefer to use metal because of it’s increased spanning capacity and longevity.

Depending on your site, steel sub-floors can be specified to provide more durability, and also to function as a basis for any future extensions of your home – enabling you to create a new space with the minimum of fuss. They also conform to regulations governing construction in bushfire prone areas and are engineered for greater spans reducing the amount of framework required.

Balustrading

If your decking is over a certain height you will need to have balustrades fitted, so you conform with the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Allform have a range of aluminium, steel and glass balustrades to suit the theme and style of your decking and home.
